Miss Gogi
About This Spot
Stepping into Miss Gogi feels like discovering a tucked-away neighborhood gem where the rhythm slows down just enough to invite you into a genuine shared meal experience. The atmosphere blends a casual warmth with subtle touches of intimacy—an easygoing spot that somehow carries a quiet, sexy energy, especially once you catch sight of the inviting teppanyaki grills and the softly gleaming wall of wines. It’s a place where the focus naturally shifts from the outside world to the simple joy of sitting down together around fire and flavor.
The three-fold nature of Miss Gogi—part hibachi kitchen, part Korean BBQ, part a laid-back bar-style setting—gives it a layered charm. Whether you’re here to sizzle your own marinated meats at the table, share fresh sushi rolls crafted with care, or settle into their evolving selection of sides and pickled accents, the mood encourages an engaged and unhurried exploration of Korean cuisine's nuanced flavors.
There’s something quietly playful about the way meals unfold here. Building your own lettuce wrap, dipping into kimchi that strikes a balance between fiery and fresh, or savoring cuts of short ribs and brisket that arrive thoughtfully prepared—each moment feels like part of an unfolding story. The variety on the menu invites diners to mix, match, and taste-test bites, letting the food create texture and motion at the table. It’s never about rush or fuss; it’s about the slow, satisfying process of tasting and sharing.
For those new to Korean BBQ or hibachi-style dining, Miss Gogi offers a gentle welcome into a culinary culture that’s as much about interaction as it is about flavor. The steady pace, attentive service, and the subtle hum of conversation create a space where guests can settle in and feel thoroughly present. It’s a place to connect over fresh ingredients, well-balanced marinades, and the real intimacy of cooking and tasting together.
Miss Gogi may not shout its presence from the street, but its quiet confidence and the palpable warmth of its hospitality make it a memorable find for anyone looking to savor something both authentic and a little adventurous in McDonough. There’s a local pride that shines through, giving the space a grounded, inviting vibe that welcomes both longtime Korean food lovers and curious newcomers alike.

Good Korean BBQ, did have to ask for lettuce though. We went for an early lunch on a weekend from Perry, GA. We were the only ones there for lunch, one note...automatic 18% service fee. It does state it on the menu. Will not give extra just because it was added to the bill. Would have given more...

From the exterior. This place truly needs a makeover. And I almost didn't not go in. But I am so happy I did... 3 restarants in 1. Hibachi, Dine in and Gogi. Great for date night .. The atmosphere is really sexy and the wall of wines. I can't say enough.. just go. You will not be disappointed

This place four stars because it to almost 20 minutes to get our lunch special. Lunch open until 2:30. Tuesday no one here. We order Bibimbap and Beef Bulgogi. My meal came out with soup kimchi pickle Dicon pickle radish and pickled jalapeño and I really enjoyed great portion size everything taste fresh and authentic. One thing I didn’t away is 15% tip added it to my lunch check. I don’t think it’s legal add Tim Maddox is out notifying the customer and it was only party of two I wish I can tip more but I didn’t want to at that point.

This was our first time trying Korean BBQ where we get to prepare our meal for ourselves. We brought another couple along so it was a new experience for us all. Let me start with this - it was a cool experience. I think my preference is for someone else to prepare my food for me, as they hold the accountability for the seasoning. . . and their experience means it will taste consistent every time. We ordered the Combo Couple for $69.99 and we were most pleased with the amount of meats we got. There was an assortment of beef, chicken & pork. It came with 2 salad options, fried rice (they prepared it), a sweet corn dish, and mixed vegetables. We didn't like the spicy salad, but the salad with ginger dressing was delicious! We had to prepare the mixed veggies & the sweet corn & cheese dish on the grill, and they were also very tasty. The rice was great too! Less than great were the tiny pickled sides like kimchee or others. Normally, I love items like these, but they were just ok. Nothing grand. Now for the meats - there was plenty, and we had fun cooking them. The only challenge was seasoning them up properly. We couldn't seem to get the thin brisket to tate like anything. But the marinated meats turned out well with a little salt and/or pepper added. Overall, the food experience was fun & exciting. The customer service experience left a lot to be desired. Our wait person spoke too fast, seemed frustrated when we asked questions, dropped the food off with us, gave little to no direction/ instructions and then disappeared for the rest of the meal. When we needed more cooking utensils, vegetables, or something, we had to wave over another waitperson to assist us. I was disappointed in their service experience most, especially since they added on 18% to your bill automatically. Pay us to bring food out that you cook for yourself! Ha! The hilarity of it all! I

We are so happy Miss Gogi has opened a second location right here in Henry County! Miss Cleo has made sure our experience is stellar every week we’ve come. The marinated meats are balanced and unbelievably well cut portions. The sides are evolving, fresh and classic. The entire experience is a lesson in true hospitality and the experience of another culture without having to travel north. Reasonably affordable but with quality like this, I really wouldn’t care. My new favorite spot and as I look around at the crowded, Tuesday night dining room, I’m not alone.

We stopped in for a late late lunch on a Monday and had the dining area to ourselves. Needless to say service was excellent as were our meals of beef bulgogi and marinated pork shoulder. Sides & sauces were both very flavorful. I would say, compared to similar kbbq, it was a bit pricey.
